Firearms Training

Date(s): January 14th & 15th, 2010

Location: Rabun County Sheriff's Office Firing Range

Time: 0900 hrs - 1500 hrs

Attendance for only one of the dates listed is needed.

This course is mandatory for all P.O.S.T. Certified deputies.

This will be a stress course of fire. Also will cover the use of deadly force.

POST credit will be received upon successful completion of the training.

Radar Recertification

Date: January 22, 2010 (0900 hrs - 1300 hrs)

Location: Rabun County Detention Center Training Room

To attend this course, you must complete a student authorization form and submit the form to RPA (Police Academy) in Athens. Class size is limited to 20.

1911 .45 Auto Transition Course

Date: January 28, 2010

Location: Rabun County Detention Center Training Room

Time: 0900 hrs - 1300 hrs

This course will cover the basic carry and use of the Colt 1911 .45 cal along with field stripping, cleaning and course of fire.

Departmental Only - Deputies who have been issued and approved to carry the 1911 auto.
