This class is for certification and recertification with the M-26 and X-26 Taser.
Firearms Requalification (Hiawassee P.D.)
Date: May 10, 2010
Location: Rabun County Firing Range
Time: 1300 hrs - 1600 hrs
This class will be on the use of deadly force and the Georgia Double Action Course of Fire as mandated by POST.
Note: This will also be open for any certified officer who needs to qualify.
Crime Scene Investigation (Fundamentals of C.S.I. for Detention & Road Officers)

Time: 0900 hrs - 1200 hrs
This class is offered for detention and road officers. It is intended to give a understanding of initially responding and handling a crime scene in a detention center.
Range Day - Detention Officers

Time: 0900 hrs - 1300 hrs
Notice!!!: Detention Officers will use their own personal firearm and furnish their own ammunition.
***Any weapon will need to be approved by Lt. Gerrells prior to use on the firing range.***
***Detention Officers interested in attending this class must have prior approval from Major Weiler and Lt. Gerrells.***
This class is for handgun training only. It is NOT a firearms qualifying training course. Topics will include permits, carrying a firearm, firearm safety and the laws concerning firearms.
There will also be live fire exercise.
